We all have different ways of reading a book and of knowing if we’re going to start reading it and finishing it.
So I’m curious to know, how does this happen for you?
Write in the comment section how you pick a book and choose to buy it or not.
What are the three things you have a look at?
And since I have written my own book, I want to find out who reads it and how.
These are some of the answers that were given to me:
- Start from the back
- Read through the Table of Contents
- Skim through all of the chapters
- Put it aside and get back to it later
- Schedule a time to read it
- Look at the pictures first
- Read it cover-to-cover in one sitting
Here are more developed answers people suggested me to share:
Dear Florence, I do question myself all the time. There seems to be a shift in the way people read, unless it’s in short, quick texts sound bites. People in the States fins little time to comprehend more than news about politics. I guess this is why many independent and smaller bookstores have gone under. C. L.
I read very slowly. I’m capable of reading faster but if reading for enjoyment I choose not to. I like to absorb every paragraph, line and word. If something speaks to me I’ll reread it as many time as pleases me. When I finally finish a book I feel as though I’ve become one with it. Is this because I’m an empath, who knows. I just know I’m not receiving any fast reader awards hahaha. Deborah
And about Under the Hat
Some of the comments I’ve received about my book were the following:
“Loved the details and well written”
“I cried with the courage chapter”
“It was just lovely”
“I gave it to two friends already”
“Loved the end of the book”
Thank you all for reading and supporting UNDER THE HAT.
