A frank and honest look-back of one’s life & experiences.

Reading about Florence’s life journey is truly inspirational. She is an example of what a woman can accomplish by believing in herself. Her courage and accomplishments are impressive. Sharing life lessons she’s learned along the way, I recommend this book to women of all ages.

My friend, Florence Klein, has just crafted an informative and inspiring book, “Under the Hat”. I’m recommending it as an efficient, informative, and delightful read – featuring her decades evolving in the early business world. She developed a balance and kind awareness of the importance of helping and being aware, and working hard, as we often don’t know the story of “the other”. Thught provoking. Enjoy it!

Florence Kleins life is absolutely fascinating. Her memoir is intriguing and thought provoking as a wife and a mother, and as someone who is interested in the history of the United States and our changing (and in some ways not changing) society. It’s a short and easy read, but definitely provokes a look inward.

The most phenomenal part of this book to me, was the “when” that all of it happened. During the 1960’s Florence Klein had the ambition, foresight, and solid belief in herself to propel her ideas forward in male dominated careers, rooms, and conversations. I cried during the chapter on courage. To be that sure of oneself is a gift, but she encourages us all to take the time to know who we are and unapologetically move forward. Everyone has something to offer. Everyone has something to gain. She truly is a trailblazer.

Wow! I’m so impressed and inspired by Flo’s journey and the wonderful way she captures the essence of all her amazing experiences. This memoir is an outstanding example of the power of women who do. A must read.

My copy arrived, and I settled in immediately — jumping to the last few chapters to read them first. How could I not? With titles of Ageism (chapter 10), Special People and Influences (chapter 11) and Random Thoughts, Pleasures, and Reflections (chapter 12). And in doing so, thrilled to the Flo Klein that I know – a thoughtful, engaged, ever so relevant octogenarian. Where did she come from? What circumstances and life choices made her who she is today? Flo writes beautifully, bringing us along through fascinating vignettes of people, places and times. We had a beautiful spring day today – Flo’s book is the perfect read.
