Today, 2/26/2025 & 2/27/2025, I cried. Why?

Who am I? I am an almost 91-year-old American woman who has lived with energy, devotion, and pride in our country—once the world’s leading democracy.

I watched, I listened, and I wept. The highest officeholder in our nation humiliated himself—and us—while speaking to a foreign leader. A leader from the very country that helped fund our fight for independence in 1775.

Republicans, Independents, Democrats—wake up! The future of our nation is at stake. Are we truly willing to stand by while lies, corruption, and outright deception drag us further into decline? Can you not see where this is leading?

Speak up! Speak up for your children—the ones who still believe in the promise of America. Their future depends on it.

We must stay informed—not just once a week, but every day. We must know what lies ahead. The 2026 election is not far off. We need change in Congress—both in the House and the Senate. And that change starts with us.

Don’t tell yourself you have no power. Don’t say you have no time. You have the most powerful tool in a democracy: your vote.

This is our country. This is our Constitution. This is our moment.

Thanks you, Florence, for these words of wisdom and for the call to action.
We must indeed keep ourselves informed, engage with others in dialogue, and VOTE.

It was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever witnessed a sitting President of the United States do in my lifetime, or in history. To so treat a visiting dignitary and president of a foreign nation to the humiliation of bullying and psychotic behavior was reprehensible.
It takes courage to face a lion. It takes greater courage to face the aftermath.

  9. Florence, Very well said. Our local community is solidly behind our feelings here. We need to reach out beyond our locale and share. Traveling in Southern California, and have seen common concerns where we didn’t expect it.
