We here in America have been content with living in our country up to now, January 2025.

We thought we knew who Trump was, but we really didn’t believe that anyone could be so callous, so unconscious, so uncaring – even in tragic situations.

Rather than come to the aide of the citizens; homeowners with no homes and many – who knows how many – without any home insurance, children with no school to attend, the response from the President was to just blame The State itself. When did we ever hear of a President NOT coming to the help of a City, State or a natural or accidental emergency?

Then in a flurry to get his orders out to “stop all federal grants and loans” immediately —not paying any attention to the Constitution which gives the power to Congress to decide who, what and when the taxpayers are to be paid.

Because this was such an outrageous and unbelievable rule, he signed depriving workers of their weekly or regular pay that went out all over the country that he reversed the rule. The Bully was called to retreat.

Since the Constitution has been the Standard of Law for over 250 years and although other presidents have tried to claim broader powers, no one has taken the authoritarian chutzpah and audacity to fire Civil Government employees without notice, justification or reason. Where are those that left, who will feed the families now? Many have worked for years protected by the civil law based on merit and the privilege that many felt they wanted the privilege to work for their Country.

There was the worst airplane collision with a loss of over 60 persons. The very first thing Mr. Trump said was it must have been because they had hired persons that were DEI people. Really???

We, in the United States constantly criticized other countries for not following legal laws in their own areas. Now, Mr. Trump is trying to bully, threaten and enforce Denmark to give over Greenland to us and just give us Panama – the latter has a treaty with us. Since when was it our US policy to tell or force other countries to just do what we want them to do – obey Trump?

  1. Hi Flo, I was never content really, considering the overall USA view re discrimination, sexism, poverty, etc. But now we need horsemen with swords to stop these bastards–so where are they? Two crazy guys of German descent are dismantling the USA and we are all allowing it! XoS

    Dear Flo,

Agree 100% with you. Nothing good comes out of insensitivity, selfishness and hatred.
As an outsider and not an American citizen, I am still unable to understand why people voted for him.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Flo,

Are you really surprised? He admires Putin. He made no secret that he would be a dictator. Yet, over half the population voted for him. You know why? They admired how he gives money to the rich and scoffs at the poor. I am really not surprised. I became so overcome with anxiety before the election my doctor put me on anxiety medication. I am still on it. I think half our population were ready to give up democracy in exchange for what they thought would be more money in their pocket. I really don’t think they care that children are hungry and people are working without being paid. They admire Trump. That’s what they voted for and there are more of them than there are of us. That’s why he won the election. They are not surprised.

I am so heart broken that our fellow citizens are OK with the devastation of others. I am as disappointed with the people who voted for him as Trump himself.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

    Warmly,

    Vicki

  6. We can’t get rid of Trump until an election. Republicans don’t have the spine to support an impeachment either. However, we might be able to get rid of Musk by subtly introducing him or talking about him as “Mr. President” and if Time/Newsweek published their front page showing Mr. Musk as a large image upfront with Trump in the background as a diminutive figure. That would piss off Trump enough that he might just get rid of Musk because we all know Trump likes the spotlight.
